Position Overview: BILLY Footwear is seeking a motivated and experienced Independent Shoe Sales Representative to join our company and promote our footwear products in the Northeast region of the United States. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with retailers, boutiques, and shoe stores, and driving sales of our shoe line within the designated territory.


Sales and Account Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, including shoe retailers, boutiques, and specialty stores.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of our shoe line.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and goals by actively pursuing new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for product improvement and increased market share.

Territory Development:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to penetrate the respective markets effectively.
  • Identify and target key accounts and prospects within the territory to expand market presence and drive sales growth.
  • Plan and coordinate sales visits, product presentations, and promotional events to generate interest and increase brand awareness.
  • Regularly update and maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and account information using CRM software.

Product Knowledge and Training:

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of our shoe line, including features, materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Educate customers on the unique selling points of our products and their benefits to effectively promote and sell our footwear.
  • Conduct training sessions and product workshops for retail staff to ensure they have a comprehensive understanding of our products, enabling them to provide accurate information and enhance the customer experience.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, market trends, and competitor activities to the management team.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to align strategies, share insights, and provide input on product development and marketing campaigns.
  • Communicate feedback, suggestions, and customer requirements to internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and meet customer expectations.


  • Previous experience as an independent sales representative or in a similar sales role, preferably in the footwear industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Northeast and Midwest markets and existing contacts within the shoe retail industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
